Connect the record player’s audio output to an audio interface, USB turntable input, or phono preamp
If using a turntable with a phono output, route it through a phono preamp before recording
Connect the interface or preamp output to a computer
Open audio recording software such as Audacity, GarageBand, or Adobe Audition
Select the correct input device in the software
Set the recording format and sample rate
Start recording in the software
Play the record from the beginning
Monitor input levels and avoid clipping
Stop recording after the side finishes
Trim silence and split tracks if needed
Export the recording as WAV, FLAC, MP3, or another desired format
Repeat for the other side of the record
Save and back up the files
