Dry the thermometer with a clean paper towel or let it air-dry
Store the thermometer in a clean, dry case or container
Sanitize the thermometer before and after each use
Do not submerge electronic thermometers unless the instructions allow it
Do not use a damaged thermometer
Replace disposable covers for each new use
