How To Score Pickleball?

Only the serving team can score points

A point is scored when the receiving team faults

Games are typically played to 11 points

A team must win by 2 points

In doubles, the score is called as server score, receiver score, and server number

The first server on a team is server 1

The second server on a team is server 2

When server 1 loses a rally, service goes to server 2

When server 2 loses a rally, service goes to the other team

In singles, the score is called as server score and receiver score

The server serves from the right side when their score is even

The server serves from the left side when their score is odd

After each point won by the serving team, the server switches sides

In doubles, both players on a team serve before service changes sides, except at the start of the game

At the start of a doubles game, only one player on the first serving team serves before the serve changes

A fault by the serving team ends their chance to score on that serve

A fault by the receiving team gives the serving team a point

Common faults include hitting the ball out of bounds, into the net, or volleying in the non-volley zone

The score is announced before each serve

The serving team’s score is said first

The receiving team’s score is said second

In doubles, the server number is said last
