Wash the pan with warm water and mild dish soap
Dry it completely
Apply a thin layer of high-smoke-point oil to the cooking surface
Heat the pan on medium to medium-high until the oil just begins to smoke
Remove from heat and let it cool completely
Wipe out any excess oil with a paper towel
Repeat if desired for a stronger seasoning layer
Use low to medium heat for regular cooking
Avoid overheating an empty pan
Hand wash and dry after each use
