Open the Messages app
Open an existing conversation or start a new one
Tap and hold the microphone icon in the text field
Record your voice message
Release to send, or swipe up to lock and keep recording
Tap the send button if prompted
To send a saved voice recording, open the Voice Memos app
Select the recording
Tap the share icon
Choose Messages
Select the recipient
Tap Send
