Go to `Configuration` > `Users` and ensure each approver is assigned to the correct team or role
Go to `Configuration` > `Holiday / Absence` or `Time Off` settings and enable vacation/absence tracking
Create an approval workflow for vacation requests in `Configuration` > `Workflows`
Set the workflow to require approval before the vacation request is marked as approved
Assign the approver or approval group in the workflow rules
Configure notification rules so approvers receive alerts for new vacation requests
Set permissions so only authorized users can approve or reject vacation requests
Add the vacation request form fields needed for start date, end date, reason, and backup contact
Test the workflow by submitting a sample vacation request from a user account
Verify the approver can approve, reject, or request changes
Confirm the request status updates correctly after approval or rejection
Review calendar or schedule visibility so approved vacations appear for the right users
Adjust escalation rules if approvals are not completed within the required time
Save and publish the configuration changes
