Set the desired side-edge angle with an edge guide
File the side edge from tip to tail in smooth, even strokes
Keep the file flat in the guide and maintain consistent pressure
Check for burrs and repeat until the edge feels sharp
Flip the ski and set the base-edge angle if needed
Use a fine file or diamond stone to refine the edge
Finish with a fine diamond stone for a smoother edge
Remove any remaining burrs with a gummy stone
Wipe the edges clean and inspect for uniform sharpness
Repeat on the other ski edge
Test carefully on snow and resharpen as needed
