Click the Apple menu
Select System Settings or System Preferences
Click General
Click Software Update
Wait for the Mac to check for updates
Click Update Now or Upgrade Now if available
Enter your administrator password if prompted
Agree to the terms and conditions if prompted
Keep the Mac plugged into power during the update
Wait for the download and installation to finish
Restart the Mac if prompted
Check Software Update again to confirm the Mac is up to date
