Make a slip knot on your hook
Hold the yarn with your dominant hand
Grip the hook with your other hand
Yarn over the hook
Pull the yarn through the loop on the hook
Repeat yarn over and pull through to make more chain stitches
Keep the stitches loose and even
Count each loop as one chain stitch
