Check the fuel level and add fresh fuel if needed
Check the oil level and add oil if needed
Make sure the spark plug wire is connected
Set the fuel shutoff valve to ON if equipped
Move the choke to the START or CHOKE position
Set the throttle to FAST if equipped
Insert the ignition key if equipped
Press the primer bulb the required number of times if equipped
Stand firmly and hold the handle
Pull the recoil starter handle briskly
Repeat the pull if the engine does not start
