Remove husks and silk from the corn
Rinse the corn under cold water
Fill a pot with 1 to 2 inches of water
Place a steamer basket in the pot
Bring the water to a boil
Add the corn to the steamer basket
Cover the pot with a lid
Steam for 5 to 7 minutes for fresh corn
Steam for 8 to 10 minutes for larger or older ears
Remove the corn with tongs
Serve immediately with desired seasonings
