Gently rub the kitten’s anal and genital area in small circles
Continue for 30–60 seconds, then pause and repeat if needed
Stimulate after each feeding
Keep the kitten warm before and during stimulation
Hold the kitten securely but gently
Wipe clean after the kitten urinates or defecates
Repeat until the kitten goes or stops straining
Feed on a consistent schedule
Monitor stool for color, consistency, and blood
Contact a veterinarian if the kitten has not pooped in 24–48 hours
Contact a veterinarian immediately if the kitten seems bloated, painful, weak, or stops eating
