Sort out any bruised, moldy, or overripe strawberries before storing
Do not wash strawberries until just before eating
Keep the green tops on until ready to use
Store them in a breathable container lined with paper towels
Place them in a single layer if possible
Refrigerate immediately
Keep the container uncovered or loosely covered to allow airflow
Replace damp paper towels if they become wet
Keep strawberries away from strong-smelling foods
Check them daily and remove any spoiled berries
For longer storage, freeze strawberries after washing, drying, and hulling
