How To String A Classical Guitar?

Remove the old strings one at a time or all at once

Clean the fretboard, bridge, and soundboard

Unwind the tuning machines and remove each string from the tuner post

Untie each string from the bridge

Place the new string through the bridge tie block

Leave enough slack for wrapping at the tuner

Tie the string securely at the bridge

Thread the string through the tuner post hole

Pull the string snug and begin winding

Keep the wraps neat and downward on the post

Ensure the string crosses the nut in the correct slot

Repeat for all six strings

Tune the guitar to pitch gradually

Stretch each string gently and retune

Trim excess string ends if needed
