Check with your pediatrician before making any feeding changes
Wait until your baby is at least 12 months old unless your pediatrician advises otherwise
Introduce whole cow’s milk gradually by mixing it with formula
Start with a small amount of milk and increase it over several days
Replace one bottle or cup at a time with milk
Watch for signs of intolerance or allergy such as rash, vomiting, diarrhea, or constipation
Use an age-appropriate cup instead of a bottle when possible
Keep offering a balanced diet with iron-rich foods
Make sure your child is drinking enough milk but not too much
Stop formula completely once your child is tolerating milk well and your pediatrician agrees
