Open the Messages app on your Android phone
Tap your profile icon or the three-dot menu
Go to Messages settings
Tap RCS chats or Chat features
Turn on RCS chats
Confirm your phone number if prompted
Make sure Chat features status shows Connected
Ensure your carrier supports RCS
Ensure your phone has an active internet connection
Update Google Messages and Carrier Services if needed
If RCS does not activate, restart your phone and try again
