Gather: acetone, cotton balls or pads, aluminum foil, nail file/buffer, cuticle oil (optional), moisturizer, paper towels
Wash hands and remove any nail polish or top coat
Trim nails as short as possible
File the top shiny layer of the acrylic gently until the surface looks dull (avoid filing to natural nail)
Soak cotton in acetone and place it on each nail
Wrap each fingertip with aluminum foil to hold the cotton in place
Wait 20–40 minutes, checking every 5–10 minutes
Remove foil and cotton; gently slide off softened acrylic with a wooden cuticle stick
If acrylic remains, re-soak and repeat in 5–10 minute intervals (do not force)
After removal, gently buff any remaining residue lightly
Wash hands and apply cuticle oil and moisturizer
Avoid picking or scraping the nails
If skin burns, stop immediately and rinse with cool water
