Find a cat in a village or swamp hut
Hold raw cod or raw salmon in your hand
Crouch or move slowly toward the cat
Let the cat approach you
Right-click or use the interact button on the cat with the fish
Repeat feeding fish until hearts appear
The cat becomes tamed and gets a collar
Keep the cat close so it does not run away
