Find a cat in a village or swamp hut
Hold raw cod or raw salmon
Crouch or move slowly toward the cat
Feed the cat the fish
Keep feeding until hearts appear
Wait for the cat to become tamed
The cat will then follow you
Right-click or use the interact button to make it sit or stand
Use a lead if you need to move it safely
