Add 12 to the hour for times after 12:00 PM, except 12:00 PM stays 1200
Midnight is 0000
Noon is 1200
Write hours and minutes together, usually without a colon
Example: 1:15 PM = 1315
Example: 6:40 AM = 0640
Example: 9:05 PM = 2105
Read the first two digits as the hour
Read the last two digits as the minutes
Say “hundred hours” for exact hours if needed, such as 1400 = fourteen hundred hours
