Aim at a safe, approved target in a controlled environment
Throw with a smooth, straight motion using your shoulder and arm
Release the knife cleanly without flicking your wrist
Follow through toward the target after release
Practice at a safe distance and increase distance gradually
Use proper safety gear and keep others well away
