Sign the title by the seller in the assigned area
Complete the Texas title application form (Form 130-U)
Fill in the odometer disclosure if required
Provide a valid government-issued ID
Get a vehicle inspection if required
Obtain proof of insurance
Pay the title transfer fees and sales tax
Submit the signed title, Form 130-U, and supporting documents to your county tax office
If there is a lien, have the lienholder release it and provide the proper paperwork
Keep copies of all documents for your records
