Turn on your new iPhone and place it near your old iPhone
Make sure both iPhones are connected to Wi-Fi and have enough battery
Follow the Quick Start prompt on the old iPhone
Use your old iPhone camera to scan the animation on the new iPhone
Enter your old iPhone passcode on the new iPhone
Set up Face ID or Touch ID on the new iPhone
Choose Transfer from iPhone to move data directly
Keep both iPhones close together until the transfer finishes
Sign in to your Apple ID on the new iPhone if prompted
Restore apps, photos, messages, and settings from iCloud if needed
Use an iCloud backup if you do not want to transfer directly
On the old iPhone, go to Settings
Tap your name
Tap iCloud
Tap iCloud Backup
Tap Back Up Now
On the new iPhone, choose Restore from iCloud Backup during setup
Use a computer and Finder or iTunes if you prefer a wired transfer
Connect the old iPhone to the computer and create a backup
Connect the new iPhone to the computer and restore the backup
Check that photos, contacts, messages, and apps transferred correctly
Keep both devices updated to the latest iOS version before transferring
