Back up the old iPhone to iCloud or a computer
Turn on the new iPhone and place it near the old iPhone
Follow the Quick Start prompts on the old iPhone
Scan the animation on the new iPhone with the old iPhone
Enter the old iPhone passcode on the new iPhone
Set up Face ID or Touch ID
Choose to transfer data from iPhone or restore from backup
Keep both iPhones connected to Wi-Fi and power during transfer
Sign in with your Apple ID
Wait for apps, photos, messages, and settings to finish transferring
Check that contacts, photos, apps, and accounts moved correctly
Pair Bluetooth accessories again if needed
Remove the old iPhone from your Apple ID if you are selling or giving it away
