Find a charged creeper
Lure it into a confined area
Use solid blocks to prevent escape
Keep a safe distance
Avoid hitting it with melee attacks
Use a lead if available and applicable in your setup
Use water or terrain to control its movement
Trap it in a boat or minecart if possible
Close off all exits immediately
Monitor it carefully until you are ready to use it
