Check all household members for lice
Treat close contacts if they are infested
Wash bedding, hats, clothing, and towels used in the past 2 days in hot water
Dry items on high heat
Soak combs and brushes in hot water for 5 to 10 minutes
Vacuum furniture, carpets, and car seats
Avoid using lice sprays on people or pets
Do not share combs, hats, or hair accessories
