Make sure the laptop is charged or plugged into power
Open the laptop lid
Locate the power button
Press the power button once
Wait for the HP logo and startup screen
If it does not turn on, hold the power button for 10 to 15 seconds, then press it again
If it still does not turn on, connect the charger and try again
