You cannot safely turn a sunburn into a tan
Stop sun exposure immediately
Get out of the sun and stay in the shade or indoors
Cool the skin with cool showers or compresses
Apply aloe vera or a fragrance-free moisturizer
Drink plenty of water
Avoid picking, peeling, or scrubbing the skin
Avoid further tanning until the burn fully heals
Use broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher after healing
Seek medical care if you have severe pain, blistering, fever, dizziness, or signs of infection
