Park on a flat, solid surface
Put the vehicle in park or in gear
Set the parking brake
Chock the wheels that will stay on the ground
Loosen wheel lug nuts slightly if needed
Use a jack to lift the vehicle at the proper lift point
Raise the vehicle high enough for the jack stand
Place the jack stand under the correct support point
Adjust the stand to the desired height
Lower the vehicle slowly onto the jack stand
Gently shake the vehicle to confirm stability
Keep the jack in place as an extra support if possible
Never work under a vehicle supported only by a jack
To remove, raise the vehicle slightly with the jack
Remove the jack stand
Lower the vehicle fully to the ground
Remove wheel chocks after the vehicle is secure
