Unbutton the shirt cuff
Fold back the French cuff so the buttonholes align
Insert the cufflink through the aligned holes
Secure the cufflink according to its fastening style
Repeat for the other cuff
Adjust the cuffs so they sit flat and even
Check that the cufflinks are snug and comfortable
Remove the cufflinks by reversing the fastening and pulling them out gently
