How To Use Google Pay?

Check that your phone supports Google Pay and that you’re signed in to a Google Account

Install the Google Pay app (or confirm it’s available on your device)

Open Google Pay

Add a payment method

Select “Add card”

Enter your card details or scan your card

Verify your card using the prompts from your bank

Set your preferred payment method

Choose the default card in Google Pay

Make a payment in stores

Unlock your phone

Hold the phone near the contactless terminal (back of the phone toward the terminal)

Keep it there until you see a confirmation

Make a payment in apps or online

Choose Google Pay at checkout

Confirm the payment method

Complete any required authentication (PIN, fingerprint, or device prompt)

Use Google Pay for transit (if available)

Open Google Pay and select the transit pass option

Add or buy a pass

Tap your phone at the gate or reader when boarding

Manage cards and settings

Open Google Pay

Go to payment methods to add, remove, or set defaults

Review privacy and security settings in the app menu

Troubleshoot common issues

Ensure NFC is enabled (if required for your device)

Confirm your phone is unlocked and screen is on for tap-to-pay

Check that your card is verified and set as default

Restart the app or your phone if payments fail

Check for app updates and bank app/verification requirements
