Follow signs for downtown, uptown, Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens, or Staten Island service
Check the train destination on the front and side of the train
Stand clear of the platform edge
Let passengers exit before boarding
Board the train and hold on while it is moving
Listen for station announcements and watch the station signs
Get off at your stop and follow exit signs
Use the same card or device for transfers if needed
Avoid empty cars late at night if possible
