Open the Snipping Tool from the Start menu or by pressing Windows key + Shift + S
Select the snip type if prompted
Choose the area of the screen you want to capture
Release the mouse button to take the snip
Edit the screenshot if needed
Save the snip using Ctrl + S
Copy the snip to paste it elsewhere if needed
Open the Snipping Tool app for more options like delay and freeform snips
Use the New button to start a new capture
Use the mode options to switch between rectangular, window, full-screen, or freeform snips
