Check the prescription label and follow your doctor’s instructions exactly
Remove the inhaler from the foil wrapper if it is new
Shake the inhaler well for 5 seconds before each use
Remove the mouthpiece cover
Hold the inhaler upright
Breathe out fully away from the inhaler
Place the mouthpiece in your mouth and close your lips around it
Press down on the top of the inhaler once while breathing in slowly and deeply
Continue inhaling fully
Remove the inhaler from your mouth
Hold your breath for up to 10 seconds, or as long as comfortable
Breathe out slowly
If a second puff is prescribed, wait about 30 seconds, shake the inhaler again, and repeat the steps
Replace the mouthpiece cover after use
Rinse your mouth with water and spit it out after use
Clean the mouthpiece regularly with a dry cloth
Do not wash the inhaler with water
Keep track of how many doses are left
Use a rescue inhaler if prescribed for sudden breathing problems
Seek medical help if symptoms worsen or do not improve
