Check the care label
Close all zippers, snaps, and Velcro
Empty all pockets
Pretreat stains with a small amount of mild detergent
Use a front-loading washing machine if possible
Wash on a gentle cycle with cold or lukewarm water
Use a down-specific detergent or mild liquid detergent
Avoid fabric softener and bleach
Run an extra rinse cycle if needed
Remove the jacket carefully after washing
Gently press out excess water without wringing
Tumble dry on low heat with clean tennis balls or dryer balls
Break up clumps by hand during drying
Continue drying until completely dry
Store the jacket only when fully dry
