Blot up as much urine as possible with clean paper towels or a dry cloth
Strip the bedding and wash it separately
Mix equal parts cold water and white vinegar in a spray bottle
Lightly spray the stained area without soaking the mattress
Blot the area again with clean towels
Sprinkle a generous layer of baking soda over the damp spot
Let the baking soda sit for several hours or overnight
Vacuum up the baking soda completely
If odor remains, repeat the vinegar and baking soda process
For stubborn stains, use an enzyme cleaner made for urine
Let the mattress air-dry fully before putting bedding back on
Use a fan or open windows to speed drying
Avoid using heat until the mattress is completely dry
Cover the mattress with a waterproof protector after cleaning
