Brush your hair to remove tangles
Gather your hair where you want the clip to sit
Twist the hair upward or inward
Fold the twisted hair against your head
Open the claw clip
Place the clip over the folded hair
Make sure the teeth grip the hair securely
Adjust any loose pieces as needed
Leave out face-framing strands if desired
Check that the clip feels comfortable and stable
