Wear a fitted blouse and petticoat first
Tuck the plain end of the saree into the petticoat at the right side of the waist
Wrap the saree around your waist once from right to left
Make the first full round and tuck it neatly at the waist
Create pleats from the front section of the saree
Keep the pleats even and about 5 to 7 inches wide
Tuck the pleats into the center of the waist slightly left of the navel
Bring the remaining saree around the body again
Drape the pallu over the left shoulder
Let the pallu fall in front or pin it at the shoulder
Adjust the pleats and pallu for a neat fit
Secure the saree with safety pins if needed
Wear traditional Bengali jewelry and accessories if desired
