Back up any files you want to keep
Insert the USB flash drive into your computer
Open File Explorer on Windows or Finder on Mac
Locate the USB drive
Right-click the USB drive and select Format on Windows
On Mac, open Disk Utility, select the USB drive, and click Erase
Choose the desired file system if prompted
Confirm the format or erase action
Wait for the process to finish
Safely eject the USB drive
For more secure wiping, use a disk wipe tool or secure erase option if available
