Turn on the register and log in with your cashier ID or code
Open the drawer and count the starting cash if required
Greet the customer
Scan each item or enter the item code manually
Verify prices and quantities on the screen
Apply discounts, coupons, or promotions if allowed
Subtotal the transaction
Ask for the customer’s payment method
Process cash, card, gift card, or mobile payment
Enter the cash amount received if paying with cash
Count change carefully and give it to the customer
Print or email the receipt
Thank the customer
Close the transaction on the register
Keep the cash drawer organized during the shift
Report price errors, voids, refunds, or register issues to a supervisor
Balance the drawer at the end of the shift
Log out and secure the register when finished
