How To Write Checks?

Write the date in the top right corner

Write the payee name on the line that says “Pay to the order of”

Write the payment amount in numbers in the box

Write the payment amount in words on the line below the payee name

Draw a line through any remaining space after the written amount

Sign the check on the signature line

Fill in the memo line if needed

Record the check in your check register or account log
