How To Stake Tomatoes?

Choose a sturdy stake 5–7 feet tall

Insert the stake 6–12 inches into the soil near the plant

Place the stake 2–4 inches away from the main stem

Drive the stake in before the plant gets too large

Tie the stem loosely to the stake with soft garden ties, cloth strips, or twine

Add ties every 8–12 inches as the plant grows

Keep ties loose enough to avoid damaging the stem

Remove side shoots if needed to encourage a single main stem

Check the plant regularly and adjust ties as it grows

Replace or reinforce the stake if the plant becomes heavy or top-heavy
