Mark the stringer locations on the deck frame
Cut and fit the stringers to the required length and angle
Position each stringer flush against the deck beam or rim joist
Secure the top of each stringer with structural screws or lag bolts
Use metal stringer hangers or brackets if required by the design
Fasten the bottom of each stringer to the landing, footing, or support base
Check that each stringer is plumb, level, and evenly spaced
Add blocking or additional framing for extra support if needed
Use corrosion-resistant fasteners suitable for outdoor use
Verify all connections are tight and compliant with local building codes
