Save your work and restart the PC
On Windows 10 or 11, press and hold Shift while selecting Restart
On the Choose an option screen, select Troubleshoot
Select Advanced options
Select Startup Settings
Select Restart
Press 4 or F4 for Safe Mode
Press 5 or F5 for Safe Mode with Networking
Press 6 or F6 for Safe Mode with Command Prompt
If Windows will not start, interrupt the boot process three times to open Automatic Repair
Select Advanced options
Select Troubleshoot
Select Advanced options
Select Startup Settings
Select Restart
Press 4 or F4 for Safe Mode
On Windows 7, restart the PC
Press F8 repeatedly before Windows starts
Select Safe Mode
Press Enter
On some PCs, use the manufacturer boot menu or recovery options to access Safe Mode
