Turn on the Xbox One console
Insert batteries or charge the Xbox One controller
Press the Xbox button on the controller to turn it on
Press the Pair button on the Xbox One console
Press and hold the Pair button on the controller until the Xbox button flashes rapidly
Wait until the Xbox button stays lit
Use the controller to confirm it is connected
If needed, connect the controller with a USB cable and press the Xbox button
If needed, update the controller through Settings > Kinect & devices > Devices & accessories
