Read the car seat and vehicle owner’s manuals before installation
Choose the correct seating position in the vehicle
Check whether the seat will use LATCH or the vehicle seat belt
Adjust the car seat to the correct recline angle
Place the car seat firmly on the vehicle seat
Route the LATCH straps or seat belt through the correct belt path
Attach the LATCH connectors to the vehicle anchors or buckle the seat belt
Tighten the straps or seat belt while pressing down on the car seat
Check that the car seat does not move more than 1 inch side to side or front to back at the belt path
Secure the top tether if the car seat has one and the vehicle allows it
Confirm the harness is at the correct height for the child
Buckle and tighten the harness on the child so it fits snugly
Recheck the installation after use and before every trip
