Wash and dry the squash
Cut the squash in half or into cubes
Remove the seeds and stringy pulp
Peel the squash if needed
Toss with oil, salt, and any desired seasonings
Spread in a single layer on a baking sheet
Roast until tender and browned, turning once if needed
Check for doneness with a fork
Serve warm
