Unplug the clippers and remove the blade set
Brush away hair and debris from the blades
Separate the moving blade from the stationary blade
Mark the blade orientation so reassembly is correct
Clean the blades with blade wash or rubbing alcohol
Dry the blades completely
Inspect the blades for chips, bends, or heavy wear
Use a sharpening stone, honing plate, or fine diamond file
Maintain the original blade angle while sharpening
Sharpen the cutting edge with light, even strokes
Sharpen both blades evenly
Remove only a small amount of metal
Deburr the edges with a fine stone or strop
Clean off all metal filings
Apply clipper oil to the blades
Reassemble the blades in the correct position
Tighten the screws securely
Test the clippers on a small section of hair
Adjust blade alignment if needed
Replace blades if they are too worn or damaged
