How to Spike a Volleyball?

Approach the net with a quick 3-step or 4-step approach

Keep your arms relaxed and ready to swing

Jump explosively off both feet

Raise your hitting arm with your elbow high

Use your non-hitting arm to help balance and track the ball

Watch the ball all the way to contact

Contact the ball at the highest point of your jump

Hit the top half of the ball with an open hand

Snap your wrist downward on contact

Aim the ball into open court space

Follow through across your body

Land with both feet and bend your knees

Reset quickly for the next play
