Plug the USB flash drive into a USB port on your computer
Wait for the device to be recognized
Open File Explorer on Windows or Finder on Mac
Locate the USB drive in the list of devices
Open the USB drive
Copy files from your computer to the USB drive
Paste files into the USB drive to save them
Copy files from the USB drive to your computer to retrieve them
Close any files stored on the USB drive before removing it
Eject the USB drive safely from the system
Remove the USB flash drive from the port
